Secondary Use Belts and Saddlery. This leather is usually characterized by a square shape and an high thickness and is suitable for the production of belts, harness and saddles for motorbikes, horse riding, bicycles etc..

Other Uses Shoes and Footwear. This leather is suitable for shoes and footwear of all kinds, from decoltè to boots, elegant or sporty. The leather for shoes are resistant to bending and weathering.

Badalassi "Pueblo" is a leather produced by the famous Italian Tannery Badalassi Carlo on vegetable tanned square shoulders. It is characterized by a deliberately damaged look like and unique surface obtained by hand with an special machine. The mastery of the craftsman who works carefully every single skin allows to obtain a very particular and highly appreciated leather.

Features of Pueblo Leather

Badalassi Pueblo leather is a classical oiled vacchetta, and it is produced following the best Tuscany tradition that it is considered the best tanning process in the world. Its surface is very reactive thanks to the addition of "Sego" (tallow) during the tanning process. The production of a perfect "Vachetta" leather like Pueblo requires incredible know-how, experience and cutting-edge machinery, such as the control of temperature inside the drums and the regulation of humidity in the production environment; these technological vanguards are present only in the Tuscan tanning district. For all these reasons, this leather enters rightfully into the category of the best Italian vegetable tanned leathers.

Appearance of Badalassi Pueblo leather

Badalassi “Pueblo” leather is a perfect mix between rustic and elegant. It is dyed completely through and it is smooth to the touch, but at the same time lightly grainy. Pueblo leather is burnishable and if rubbed becomes more shiny and beautiful, this fact is linked with the oil in tanning: the usage and time instead of worsening the skin pulls the best out of it.

Pueblo leather is a veg tan shoulder that is ideal for the production of bags, briefcases, wallets, belts, harness, saddlery, shoes, binding, covers, accessories, and leather goods in general. Like shown in the illustration below.

Pueblo leather is produced only on square shoulders, which average dimensions are reported in the pictures below. Being leather a natural material, the sizes can vary from one skin to another.

I love the leather. It feels great, has a beautiful color to it, and is top quality. The color is medium brown but it does have a purple hue to it, not a deal breaker. I must note that it doesn't smell like leather, it smells like dye or oil of some sort. I was hoping it would have the familiar leather smell like my other hides but it's not a reason not to buy again. I WILL be buying again. I would love to try out some other colors to see what I like. Thanks!
