This kind of leather is suitable for sandals, wallets, key-chain, shoes, bags, backpack, belts and small leather goods. The characteristic of finished products made with this special and valuable leather lies in the natural appearance of the surface which, when exposed to the sun, tends to acquire darker shades tending to cognac color.
Characteristics of the natural vegetable tanned leather with "Sego" Oil
The vegetable tanned leather with “Sego” (animal oil) has peculiarities that distinguish it from tanned leather to natural plant. The tanning process is the same, the difference lies in the fact that animal fat is added at some point of the process. This causes the leather to assume certain characteristics:
- Greater wear-resistant
- Darker color tending to the cognac
- If rubbed, this leather usually becomes more shiny and beautiful, this fact is linked with the best wear resistance: the usage and time instead of worsening the skin pulls the best out of it
- The cost of tanning of the Sego oil leather greatly affects the price, which is why this skins are considered more valuable for the particular workmanship they have undergone

As always even the more affordable options from the italian are excellent. Very nice leather but keep in mind that is a little bit "stretchy" which might affect the end product depending on the use. I dont recommend it for things that will be subject to tension ( such as handles or flaps) as it will go off dimmensions. Excellent for wallets.

Bellissima!!! The belly leather is such a nice supple piece with an impeccable luster! I am actually concerned that if I start making things with this leather I won't stop until I would have nothing left!!!!
